This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the third-party services we share it with to run the store.
This store is operated by The Austrian Painter LLC, a limited liability company organized in the United States. Our registered business address is 110 16th Street, Suite 1460, Denver, CO 80202. Information we collect
When you create an account, place an order, or contact us, we collect the following:
- Identity & contact details — your name, email address, and the shipping and billing addresses you enter at checkout.
- Account information — the login credentials and profile associated with your customer account, which are created and managed through our commerce platform, Medusa Cloud.
- Order information — the items you purchase, order totals, and your order and shipping history.
- Payment information — the billing details needed to process your payment. Your full payment card number is entered directly with our payment processor, Stripe, and is never stored on our systems.
- Automatically collected information — basic device and usage data, such as pages viewed and general activity on the store, used to keep the site working and to understand aggregate traffic. See Cookies & tracking below.
We do not collect telephone numbers.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- process, fulfil, and deliver your orders;
- send transactional email relating to your order, such as order confirmation, shipping, delivery, and cancellation notices;
- create and maintain your customer account;
- provide customer support and respond to your enquiries;
- detect, prevent, and investigate fraud and abuse; and
- where you have opted in, send marketing and cart-recovery email. You can withdraw this consent at any time (see below).
Third parties we share data with (processors)
We share the minimum data necessary with these service providers:
- Stripe — payment processing. Receives payment and billing information to charge your order. Privacy policy.
- Prodigi — print & fulfilment partner. Receives your recipient name, shipping address, and order/item details so your item can be produced and shipped. Privacy policy.
- Brevo — email provider. Receives your email address, name, and related contact/order attributes to send transactional and (where opted in) marketing email. Privacy policy.
- Vercel — hosting and site analytics. Operates the infrastructure that serves the store and collects aggregate, non-identifying usage data. Privacy policy.
- Medusa Cloud — commerce backend. Stores and processes your account and order data so we can operate the store. Privacy policy.
Some of these providers are located outside the United States — for example, our fulfilment partner is based in the United Kingdom and our email provider in the European Union — so your information may be processed internationally. These providers are bound by their own data-protection commitments, linked above.
Cookies & tracking
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies that are essential to running the store — chiefly to keep your shopping cart and session working as you browse and check out. These are necessary for the site to function.
For analytics we use Vercel, which measures traffic using aggregate, anonymised data and does not rely on cookies to track you across sites. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Marketing & cart-recovery email
If you enter your email at checkout, we may send reminders to help you complete your order, and — where you opt in — occasional marketing email. Every marketing and reminder email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing never stops essential transactional email such as receipts and shipping updates.
We send marketing email only where you have opted in, and cart-recovery reminders only to help you complete an order you have started. We honour opt-out requests promptly, and unsubscribing from marketing never affects the transactional email described above.
Data retention & your rights
We keep your personal information for as long as needed to provide the store and to meet our legal, accounting, and tax obligations. In practice, order and transaction records are typically retained for around seven years to satisfy tax and record-keeping requirements; marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe; and account information is kept for as long as your account remains open.
We offer all of our customers the ability to request access to the personal information we hold about you, and to request that it be corrected or deleted. You can also review and update much of your account information directly by signing in to your account. To make a request, email us at support@austrianpainter.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and some information may be retained where we are required or permitted by law to keep it.
